Meet the Members

Ken Coleman

Ken Coleman, Secretary (Position 5)

Ken Coleman, Jr. joined the board in 2005. He graduated from C.E. King High School with honors in 1983. Coleman is a graduate of the University of Houston where he earned a degree in finance. Coleman has also served as a charter director of the Sheldon ISD Education Foundation. He and his wife are the parents of two children, one is a recent King High School graduate and the other is a current Sheldon student. Mr. Coleman's term expires in November 2018.

Latricia Charlot

Latricia Charlot, Vice President  (Position 2)

Latricia Charlot was elected to the school board in 2008. Charlot is a lifelong resident of the Sheldon area and a 1988 graduate of C.E. King High School. She also attended San Jacinto College North, where she received a Certificate of Technology in Licensed Vocational Nursing. Charlot is a member of various charitable organizations in the area and volunteers in various ministries at the St. John Baptist Church where her family attends. She has two sons, one is a King High School graduate and the other one is a current Sheldon student. Ms. Charlot's term expires in November 2020.

 

Eileen Palmer

Eileen Palmer, Secretary (Position 3)

Eileen Palmer was elected in November 2006 and serves as the Secretary. Palmer is a graduate of C.E. King High School and is a law office administrator for Grossman & Waldman, LLP. Palmer was instrumental in starting the parent-teacher organization at King Middle School. Since then, she has been an active and involved parent volunteer in the district as well as the community. Eileen and her husband have a daughter who recently graduated from King High School.  Mrs. Palmer's term expires in November 2020.

Debbie Kolacny

Debbie Kolacny, Member (Position 7)

Senior board member Debbie Kolacny was elected in 1995. She’s a graduate of C. E. King High School and San Jacinto College. Active in numerous volunteer committees since 1980, Kolacny is the District Office Director for State Representative Wayne Smith. She held the same office for the late Joe Moreno and for former Representative Fred Bosse. She and her husband have two children who both graduated from Sheldon schools. Mrs. Kolacny's term expires in November 2018.

Fred Rivas

Fred Rivas, President (Position 4)

Fred Rivas has served on the Sheldon ISD school board since 2005. Rivas is a volunteer coach for Sheldon Little League baseball and serves Lakewood, his church, through volunteering in different ministries. In 2007, Rivas was selected to serve as an executive board member of the Gulf Coast Area Association of School Boards. He and his wife have four children, two are King High School graduates and the other two are current Sheldon students. Mr. Rivas' term expires in November 2018.

 

Angela Cormier

Angela Cormier, Member (Position 1)

Angela Cormier is the newest Sheldon ISD Board of Trustee. She was officially sworn in on Dec. 13 in the Ney Administration Building Board Room. Ms. Cormier's term expires in November 2020.

 

Devora Myles

Devora Myles, Member (Position 6)

Devora Myles joined the school board in 2014. Myles has a degree from Columbia Southern University, and is the Safety Supervisor at Total Safety. She also serves as the Sheldon Little League Vice President. Myles has two children, one that currently attends Sheldon Early College High School. She has lived in the district for ten years. Mrs. Myles’ term will expire in 2018.
