Lisa Steele - Dean of Instruction
I am very excited to serve as the Dean of Instruction for C.E. King High School. I will passionately serve this role to ensure that ALL of our students receive a quality education that will prepare them for both College and/or future Careers. Both of my children attend Sheldon schools, my daughter is a senior at KHS and my son is a third grader at Sheldon Elementary.
As the daughter of two educators, I knew from an early age the importance of education. I graduated from high school and ventured from South Texas to San Angelo where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry and Minor in Biology from Angelo State University. I then moved to Houston where I earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Houston.
I began my teaching career 15 years ago in Galena Park ISD as a Science high school teacher. In 2009 I came to Sheldon ISD as a part of the district’s first Instructional Coaching team. I served at KHS as the Science Instructional Coach for 3 years before moving to the district office as the Secondary Science Specialist the last 4 years.
For the last 7 years I have been able to watch Sheldon ISD grow and develop new programs to support our students. As an Instructional Leader I hope to continue to support all instructional programs and utilize my background to bring in new ideas such as STEM education. As we plan for our new high school I will be an advocate for “Every Child, Every Day!"
Great things are happening in Sheldon and I’m honored to be a part of it all!
