Greetings from the principal’s office!
My name is Demetrius McCall and it is my pleasure to serve as the C.E. King High School principal. I am proud to be a part of Sheldon ISD and believe we have the best students!
A little about me: I am originally from Detroit, MI. One of four children, my parents instilled the value of an education and how important it is to dream. I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University studying business education and communication studies. While attending W.M.U., I met my wife (Candice) and we are now the parents of two children.
After a short career in human resources, I made the decision to return to my first love which is education. I started my teaching career in Channelview ISD where I taught for four years. After completing my Master’s degree at the University of Houston – Clear Lake, I received my first administrative position in Dayton ISD. While there, I was an assistant principal for a year and an associate principal for three years. In the spring of 2013, I came to C.E. King High School as the principal for curriculum and served in that role until I was named principal in 2014.
This year our purpose remains the same. We are “Educating Today for a Better Tomorrow”. How do we do that? We focus on “Every Child, Every Day” and realize that our career is not a job, it is a calling.
Last school year we celebrated many of our students for their accomplishments in academics, fine arts, CTE programs and athletics. I am confident that we will have another successful year. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher, counselor or administrator for any assistance you may need.
