Sheldon ISD Superintendent - King R. Davis
I am extremely excited to join you as the new superintendent of the Sheldon Independent School District. It is with great honor and humility that I take on the responsibility of leading SISD, and most importantly, ensuring that every student graduates college or career ready. In the process of becoming your superintendent, I shared with Board members my beliefs and commitments. I share them again in writing here.
First, as a public school district, we are responsible for providing a powerful education for all students, no matter their background, home situation or family resources. It is our responsibility to help each and every student learn, grow and be challenged to do their very best every day.
As an educational leader, I value learning and know first-hand the impact that an effective education can have on the lives of children. We must continue to improve student learning, and as a district staff, we must continue to learn and grow so we can best serve our students. As an organization, we must continue to learn ways to improve our systems and processes. This is challenging work that requires collaboration, respectful working relationships and a positive attitude.
Also, I believe that strong school systems are an integral and important part of strong communities. Families want the best for their children and are attracted to areas with good schools. Strong communities build strong schools, and strong schools build strong communities. We all must contribute to sustain a productive community that instills pride in every member, whether our role is in the home, community, or our schools. Education is a shared responsibility.
As superintendent you can expect me to lead ethically, with integrity and transparency. I believe the superintendent should be visible and involved, and I will work tirelessly for the betterment of the community and the students we serve. I am proud of my 23 years of service in education and look forward to many future years of service as the Sheldon Independent School District superintendent.

Sandra Matthieu, a longtime employee of the district and an alumnus of C. E. King High School, serves as the secretary to the Superintendent as well as the secretary to the Board of Trustees. She also serves the district as the election supervisor, handling school board and bond elections. Ms. Matthieu is known for her willingness to help wherever she is needed, which is a great asset in the superintendent's office.
